For the first time in 30 years, the New York Knicks swept a
seven-game series. For the first time in five years, they're in the
Eastern Conference finals.
On another day of politicking off the court and precision on it,
the Knicks completed a 4-0 sweep of the Atlanta Hawks with a 79-66
victory Monday night at Madison Square Garden.
New York moves on to a conference final matchup with the Indiana
Pacers beginning Sunday in Indianapolis. New York coach Jeff Van
Gundy will enter that series without knowing whether his job is safe
for next season.
