If Bob Harlan gets his wish, Lambeau Field will be renovated in
phases between National Football League seasons in a way that would
allow the stadium to retain its intimacy and charm, provide fans with
state-of-the-art amenities and create critical new revenue streams
for the franchise.
Although the team hasn't ruled out building a new stadium, the
Packers' president on Thursday gave the strongest indication yet that
the much-preferred option is to renovate 42-year-old Lambeau Field.
"In my mind, yes, it is," Harlan said in a meeting with Journal
Sentinel editors and reporters. "I would love to find a way to save
the stadium."
