Skip Kendall said he wasn't fully awake when he teed off at 6:49
a.m. Friday.
So naturally, he had the round of his dreams.
Kendall, of Fox Point, fired a 7-under-par 65, a competitive
course record on the No. 3 course at Medinah Country Club, and
vaulted onto the leader board midway through the 81st PGA
Championship.
Kendall, 34, was at 5-under 139, four strokes behind leader Jay
Haas going into the third round today.
"It was just a great day for me. It was one of those rounds you
really dream about, especially in a major," Kendall said. "I held it
together pretty well on the back side (after shooting a 30 on the
front) and I'm very happy to be where I am."
Kendall's 65 erased the old mark ...
