Land O'Lakes Inc. and Swiss Valley Farms Co. -- two of the
Midwest's largest dairy cooperatives -- said Tuesday they're creating
a partnership that will combine their fluid milk and cultured dairy
product businesses.
The joint venture, with combined annual revenue of $480 million,
will unite the two cooperatives' six Midwestern milk- and
juice-bottling plants and two cultured dairy product plants. About
75% of the joint venture's revenue will come from Land O'Lakes' side
of the partnership, said company spokeswoman Lydia Botham.
Land O'Lakes has 1,700 member dairy farms in Wisconsin and
operates a plant in Richland Center, which has 160 employees. Land
