The Butler Village Board has offered to buy property next to the Clarke House museum on which to build a library, a move that a community group hopes will end its three-year, often frustrating quest for a new library.

In a vote last week, the Village Board offered the Butler Community Foundation $98,400 to buy property at 12808 W. Hampton Ave. on which to build an approximately 3,500-square-foot library.
