Carol A. Schultz, Hayward, and Joan Wasserberg, Waupaca, sent soup
recipes for Joan Lager, Greenfield, who wanted a recipe for a cabbage
or hearty vegetable soup.
Schultz wrote: "One of my favorite soups, served in the cafeteria
of St. Michael Hospital when I was employed there, was pork and
cabbage soup. I never requested the recipe, but was able, after a
few tries, to duplicate it pretty well."
Wasserberg, whose recipe includes ginger ale, wrote: "It sounds
absurd, but trust me, it tastes exactly like good deli cabbage soup.
It's a favorite in our house."
Clifford R. Zobel, Milwaukee; Alice Janssen, Shawano, and Janice
Tubbs, Ixonia, also sent soup recipes.

......the world are in agreement that the Cabbage Soup Diet is a highly effective way to lose...with butter (is that one stick or two?) Cabbage soup is delightful - like fork scratching...fish. Then beef. Slipped chicken into cabbage soup. Only gagged once from soup. Day Six...
