The sale of the Greenfield school district administration building
and its 10.6-acre site to an Illinois developer for $3.18 million was
approved by district electors Monday night.
The 102-43 vote came after about an hour of debate.
Under the plan, up to $2 million of the proceeds from the sale
would be used to build a new administration building on the grounds
of Greenfield Middle School, at S. 35th St. and W. Barnard Ave.
The remaining roughly $1.1 million would be used to pay off the
district's scheduled school building additions and improvements for
the next five years.
