"NYPD Blue" producer Steven Bochco won his war of wills with ABC
on Friday. The network announced it was keeping the Emmy-winning
police drama in the Tuesday time slot it has occupied since 1993.
But he's going to have to wait: "NYPD Blue" doesn't return for its
new season until Jan. 11, 2000.
The network said it would move "Once and Again," the new drama
that has been airing at 9 p.m. CT Tuesdays, to 9 p.m. Mondays in
January, once the pro football season is over.
"We . . . believe this scheduling decision allows us the
opportunity to maximize the potential of both series," said Stu
Bloomberg, co-chairman of the ABC Entertainment Television Group.
