A man who says he has been called by God to a traveling ministry can travel to prison and minister there, a Washington County judge said Wednesday while sentencing him for criminal failure to pay child support.

Thomas D. Redlich is the first person convicted by a Washington County jury of failing to pay child support. The jury earlier this fall found Redlich guilty on all four counts he faced: one felony and three misdemeanor charges of intentionally failing to pay child support for periods ranging up to 121 days at a time.

In court Wednesday, Circuit Judge Annette Ziegler gave Redlich the maximum sentence for those four counts -- a total of 51 months in prison. He will be required ...
