Ron Dayne's remarkable consistency on the football field, an
average of 147.2 yards per regular-season game over four seasons, has
left him on the cusp of greatness.
Barring an injury in pregame warmups, the University of Wisconsin
senior tailback surely will gain the 99 yards necessary to break
Ricky Williams' year-old NCAA Division I-A all-time rushing mark when
the University of Wisconsin takes on Iowa at 2:30 this afternoon at
Camp Randall Stadium.
But don't expect Dayne to give a lengthy, syrupy speech after
