Hard-core rapper DMX had a huge week at the nation's retailers,
dethroning holiday queen Celine Dion as the No. 1 seller during the
week of Christmas.
In the week that ended Sunday, DMX's new album, "And Then There
Was X," debuted at No. 1 on sales of more than 698,000 copies,
according to SoundScan figures.
"X" is DMX's second consecutive No. 1 debut, following last year's
"It's Dark & Hell Is Hot."
Another posthumous release from Tupac Shakur scored a top 10 debut
as well; "Still I Rise," the rapper's album with the Outlawz, debuted
at No. 7.
Overall, the SoundScan sales report showed the music industry
enjoying yet another week of holiday cheer as 79 of the ...
