Parents of three children who died in foster care have sued the children's foster parents for negligence, leaving the foster parents to fend for themselves in court with no help from the government.

The lawsuits were filed in federal court by parents and family members of three Milwaukee County children who died in separate foster homes in 1997 and 1998. The suits allege the foster parents were negligent in their care and also name the county and officials with the Milwaukee County Department of Human Services.
