Bill Bradley said Al Gore has distorted his views. Gore suggested
that Bradley is touchy about criticism.
Bradley suggested that Gore wasn't willing to fight for big
things. Gore said Bradley wasn't willing to admit mistakes.
Gore noted that he, unlike Bradley, had stayed in politics to
fight bad Republican policies.
Bradley, who left the U.S. Senate after the 1996 elections, said
some politicians "stay too long and fight too much."
In the first presidential debate of the election year, the
