Grant Hill was one of the NBA's brightest stars from the day the
Detroit Pistons drafted him out of Duke. Since then his deft layups
and acrobatic dunks have made him a perennial All-Star.
Yet he never was content. He had a weak outside shot and he knew
it. Even teammates and opponents would kid him about it.
So he went to work on it. Nobody's kidding anymore.
Through the first 33 games of this season, Hill was averaging 27.8
points -- 7.1 better than his five-year career average.
"Right now, he's probably the best total package in the league,"
Orlando forward Monty Williams said after Hill torched the Magic for
42 points with eight assists and seven rebounds on Jan. 3. "Now ...
