Article: UWM to offer master's in liberal studies

While colleges nationwide have churned out computer science, business and engineering graduates -- and received the bulk of college funding in return -- professors in the liberal arts have been thinking of ways to make the writings of Aristotle and Toni Morrison as popular as the theories of Einstein and Adam Smith.

A cadre of professors at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will make such a push this fall, when they introduce a new major: a master's degree in liberal studies.
