I'm sure your average TV news person is a decent sort. I bet he or she coaches Little League, attends worship services, gives to charity. So why do they all seem intent on scaring America to death?

You know what I mean. America's had a hard day at work, followed by a tough commute. America gets home and finds that dinner is leftover carryout and the kids are swinging from the light fixtures. To top it all off, America's spouse is still in a major snit because America left its underwear on the bathroom floor this morning.

Now all America wants to do is grab some sleep and forget this day ever ...
