Supreme Court suspends circuit judge for 6 months

The Wisconsin Supreme Court Friday suspended Washington County Circuit Judge Lawrence Waddick for six months for lying to the state Judicial Commission, failing to decide cases in a timely manner and filing false certifications about the disposition of cases.

Waddick and his attorney had pushed for a "severe public reprimand" without a suspension from the court. The Wisconsin Judicial Commission, which prosecuted Waddick, had sought a one-year suspension.
