Scholars to speak at Carroll College on role of the Middle West

Waukesha -- Carroll College's Institute for Civil War Studies is sponsoring a major symposium in June that will feature speeches by noted scholars and authors.

The June 23 and 24 symposium, "From the Mississippi to the Potomac: the Middle West in the American Civil War," will highlight the overlooked role of the Midwest in the war between the states, said Lance Herdegen, the director of the institute.
