To say comedian Eddie Griffin has a big mouth would not be an exaggeration. But truthfully, isn't that why we love him?

About 1,500 people gathered Friday at the Riverside Theatre, 116 W. Wisconsin Ave., to hear the comic -- who plays Eddie on UPN's "Malcolm and Eddie" and the title role in the movie "Foolish" -- run his mouth. The results were a mixed bag of hilarious and poignant moments.

Those who came seeking the usual litany of tired obese jokes, coupled with the occasional insults of audience members, were probably shocked -- but hopefully not disappointed.
