Pauline Beck, Greenfield, sent a recipe for a sour cream coffeecake topped with dollops of sour cream as requested by Colleen Cain, Brookfield.

She wrote: "When I read Colleen's description in the paper (especially the part about the sour cream on the top), I thought immediately of my mom's kuchen. Our family is German, so this could be the same recipe. For me, the very best part about the kuchen was using it for French toast.
