Our families love bacon. In the height of the local tomato season, we crave crisp, smoky bacon paired with juicy plump tomatoes. What better way to enjoy them both than in a BLT?

Frying enough bacon can be a pain, though, what with the grease, the smoke and the spatters. If you cook it in the microwave, it's oily paper towels and repeat batches.

For several years now, we've been eyeing the already-cooked bacon found in the meat case alongside the regular bacon. Isn't it awfully expensive? Could it possibly be cooked the way we like ...
