From local to national news reports, from Court TV to VH1, TV producers and reporters are looking for ways to tell the story of May 4, 1970, once again.

In TV terms, the ideal telling contains something new -- an untold story, a previously silent witness, a remarkable revelation.

After 30 years, though, such magic is hard to come by. Two new documentaries interview several of the same people, albeit to tell the story in somewhat different ways.

In fact, the reconsideration of Kent State takes separate paths in three productions, the two documentaries and a drama.
