A harrowing view of World War II through the eyes of combat artists

If you want a terribly personal, totally unglamorized view of combat in World War II, look no further than "They Drew Fire," the intimate, moving documentary that airs at 10 p.m. Monday on Channel 10.

The hourlong show, an in-depth examination of the work of artists who carried rifles and paintbrushes into battle in Europe and the South Pacific in the 1940s, is an astute mix of personal reflections, paintings, still photos and newsreel clips.
