Clash of air masses got June off to stormy start here

Friday, June 2, 2000
After the second-rainiest May on record with 8.94 inches in
Milwaukee, June started with strong thunderstorms, hail, high winds,
and even a tornado watch and some warnings throughout southeastern
Wisconsin. This was all because of a clash of air masses as an area
of low pressure moved across central Wisconsin on Thursday night.
June happens to be the peak of our tornado season, as temperature
and moisture levels climb high enough to start the development of
