PARK EAST FREEWAY

Consider residents of city's east side

Before we demolish the Park East Freeway, there are several issues to consider.

It was built at considerable cost to reduce traffic congestion and to provide easy access for people living in the inner city, many of whom have low incomes. Transport companies that serve elderly and mentally or physically challenged residents also use the freeway.

In all probability, the company chosen to build the freeway earned a handsome profit, as will the company chosen to tear it down.

I am 76 years old and do not drive any longer, so my motives are in the interest of what I think will be best for Milwaukee.
