Dairy to milk 2,800 cows

Calumet County farm would be state's 2nd-largest

A massive dairy farm -- featuring 2,800 milking cows -- is planned for Calumet County in eastern Wisconsin, a $10 million development that would create the state's second-largest dairy operation.

Kenn Buelow, who would be the farm's general manager, said Tuesday that he hopes to begin milking cows by March on the 369-acre farm about three miles southeast of Hilbert. Buelow would own the farm in a partnership with Holsum Inc., which operates a 4,000-cow dairy farm near Roswell, N.M.
