When a national touring company of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The
Phantom of the Opera" returns to the Marcus Center this week, it will
come with record worldwide box office sales: more than $3 billion
since the musical's original production opened in London in 1986.
That tops the film "Titanic," and makes it the most successful
entertainment venture of the 20th century.
