It's been nearly five years since grunge ruled the rock charts,
but one of the genre's originators, Pearl Jam, is having one of its
most eventful years.
"It's been a fairly crazy year for us," Pearl Jam guitarist Stone
Gossard said by phone
Along the way, tragedy struck. While Pearl Jam was playing June 30
at a rock festival 30 miles outside Copenhagen, Denmark, nine fans
were trampled to death at a crowded, muddy outdoor venue.
After that, the group considered halting the tour. But the members
decided to continue.
Then came ...
