Grandchildren eat up gooey lemon bars

Sunday, December 3, 2000

Rose Marie Vanderheiden, Jackson, and Pat Blanchard, Onalaska, sent recipes for J.W., Milwaukee, who wanted a lemon bar recipe that used six eggs and was baked in a 13-by-9-inch pan.

Vanderheiden wrote: "I don't remember where I got the recipe from, but it has been in my files for years and these bars are delicious."

Blanchard wrote: "I don't know if this is the lemon bar recipe requested, but they are gooey and rich. I've given the recipe to others and they bake it longer so that the bars aren't as soft. But my grandchildren love them the way I do it."
