Hospital to close doors
Northwest General has served poor, underinsured

Thirty-five years to the day after Northwest General Hospital
opened its doors, officials announced Wednesday that the hospital has
lost its long battle for survival and will close in 60 days.
The hospital, which cares for residents of some of the city's
poorest neighborhoods, had reorganized after filing for Chapter 11
bankruptcy protection in 1989. This summer it was learned that the
hospital was having problems managing its finances.

owed, and we have invoices ...
