Allen, Bears lose grip, game to Jets

He runs well, but three fumbles costly

East Rutherford, N.J. -- Miss a block, and maybe the quarterback gets sacked. Drop a pass, and maybe you can make up for it on the next down.

But fumble the football, and you run the risk of costing your team the game. Running backs can't fumble, especially on a mucky day like last Sunday.

Chicago's James Allen, who had never fumbled before in his NFL career, lost the ball three times in the rain at the Meadowlands and the Bears paid dearly.
