Bakers find new ways to get a rise out of their bread machines

Not too many holidays ago, bread machines seemed to be the gift du jour for anyone who was interested in cooking.

Soon, seasoned as well as not-so-seasoned cooks started churning out gazillions of loaves of bread -- white breads, rye breads, wheat breads, 8-, 10-, 12-grain breads -- even sourdough breads.

While some of these machines may now be stored away with exercise
