Take down the Park East

A decision is finally expected today on tearing down the Park East
Freeway. The decision-makers need to tune out the people questioning
the wisdom of razing the Park East while the Hoan Bridge is in limbo.
This is no time to turn back.
Enough careful thought from transportation planners has already
gone into this matter. Far more good than bad can come from razing
this underutilized dead-end stretch of freeway. Razing it will free
23 acres of prime downtown land for development -- including the
