Troop 147 helps scout out contest winners

It was the ultimate brownie challenge.

And members of Brownie Girl Scout Troop 147 not only took on the ooey-gooey task, they ate it up.

We asked the 13 young girls who proudly wear the Brownie uniform at St. Florian School in West Milwaukee to sample a dozen different chocolate brownies, finalists in our Journal Sentinel Brownie Recipe Contest, and pick their favorites.

The judging wasn't easy. Readers faxed, mailed and e-mailed a record 612 brownie recipes to the newspaper -- fruity brownies, minty brownies, fudgy brownies, to name just a few. It was the most ...
