Proper makeup will enhance a home's powder room

The genteel phrase "powder room" allows us to approach designing a half-bath with a heightened sense of propriety and a diminished sense of practicality.

While the powdering of noses is hardly the limit of what goes on in there, our collective denial of what the room is really for lets us pretend otherwise. It reminds us, as well, that this is the household bathroom in which our relatives and friends will spend time, and we would like them to come out with a favorable impression.
