Genetic testing issue is a workplace time bomb

Q. I attached an article from the New York Times (Feb. 10) that reports a lawsuit in a federal court in Iowa by the Equal Economic Opportunity Commission against the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Co. to end genetic testing in work injury cases.

A critic of the lawsuit, who is a geneticist, says the concern is premature based upon the "fact that there's been no abuse," that there have been no cases involving "real people."

Poor reasoning, I'd say. Do you agree?
