Ex-president tried not to drift from board's agenda, DA says

Waukesha -- District Attorney Paul Bucher said Wednesday he will drop an open meetings law case against the former New Berlin School Board president, but he warned other members of that board to be vigilant in the future.

Bucher said he determined it had been James Benfield, superintendent of schools, and not the School Board that strayed from posted agenda items at a Dec. 6 meeting about renovations at New Berlin West middle and high schools.
