HIV infection rising among young gay men
Study finds rate for black gays means 15 of 100 will become
infected

Young gay men, particularly black men, are becoming infected with
the AIDS virus at "alarming" rates in this country, and expanded
prevention efforts are needed to stop the resurgence, federal health
officials said in releasing findings from a new study Thursday.
The rate of new infections with HIV, the AIDS virus, among black
gay men 23 to 29 years was six times that of a comparable group of
young white gay men and three times that of all young gay men in the
study.
