Spark of Fourth of July spirit starts early
Volunteers have been planning all year for today's celebrations

Joanne Jalowiec has been looking forward to today since, well,
last Fourth of July.
For Jalowiec, this isn't just a holiday. This is an obsession.
"Everyone who knows me hears about the Fourth," Jalowiec said.
"Even the lady who cuts my hair. I can't help but love it."
In Milwaukee, where neighborhood Fourth of July celebrations are
as treasured as Friday fish fries, volunteers such as Jalowiec are
essential.
"Really, the volunteers are at the heart of the celebrations,"
