American Medical investor seeks change

Filing calls for sale or new management

For the second time since 1999, American Medical Security Group Inc. investor Caxton Associates LLC on Friday called for the small- group health insurer to be sold or undergo a management change.

New York-based Caxton Associates, controlled by investor Bruce Kovner, sought the action in a regulatory filing. Caxton, which owns 5.7% of the company's stock, called American Medical shares "undervalued."

Shares of Green Bay-based American Medical closed Friday at $6.69, down 10 cents. Shares hit a low for the year of $4.85 Aug. 7.
