Seminar aims to help dads stay connected, be nurturers

Fathers are so important to the development of children that even unwed fathers estranged from the mother should be encouraged to stay connected to their children, speakers told about 200 people attending a three-day conference sponsored by the Milwaukee Fatherhood Collaborative, a group of 33 agencies.

And if a father is not available, substitute a father-figure, the speakers said.
