State film festival gets $10,000 grant

The Wisconsin Film Festival is one of 14 film festivals around the country to receive a grant from the Academy Foundation, the educational and cultural arm of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The grants, totaling $250,000, are to be used for festival programming next year. The Wisconsin festival, a public program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arts Institute, received one of five $10,000 grants issued by the foundation.
