SAN LEANDRO -- The city is in good shape and its financial outlook
in the immediate future is manageable, Mayor Shelia Young said
Thursday in her annual "State of the City" address.
Young was speaking to about 185 business and community members
during a San Leandro Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the city's main
library. Young also gave the speech earlier in the week at the City
Council's Monday meeting.
"Because of our conservative budget management and the success of
our economic development efforts in recent years, the impact of the
recession on city revenues is manageable for the time being," she
told the crowd.
