AT the beginning of Brian De Palma's sexy thriller "Femme Fatale,"
Rebecca
Romijn-Stamos as Laure Ash lies partially clad on a bed, her image
reflected in the television screen. On it plays out a crucial scene
in the film noir classic "Double Indemnity" with Fred MacMurray (as
duped insurance salesman Walter Neff) and Barbara Stanwyck (as
perhaps cinema's ultimate femme fatale, Phyllis) facing off.
Yes, we are in De Palma territory, which means cinema references
abound in "Femme Fatale," now out on DVD from Warner.
Laure takes part in a jewel heist at the 2001 Cannes Film
