LISTEN up, parents with young children: It's time for an important lesson in installing your child's car seat.

You've got a car seat for each child who needs one, you say? Great. Here's the problem: Chances are it's not installed properly.

A study appearing in the journal Pediatrics last month concludes that as many as 80 percent of car safety seats are either used improperly or installed incorrectly. And it's not necessarily the parents' fault. As anyone who's ever tried to install a seat knows, the study found the instructions were often written in confusing language or legal jargon.
