The Washington Capitals skated onto the ice tonight resolved not to let their game against the Calgary Flames turn into an open-ice affair as their game with the Edmonton Oilers -- an 8-2 drubbing -- did two nights before. With eight injured players, the Capitals did not have the personnel to get into an end-to-end contest, so they determined the best chance they had to win or tie was to keep the score low.
