SOME YEARS AGO a London research firm called Sound Thinking Ltd.
undertook a study to determine which social groups were most likely
to inspire prejudice.
After considerable research, it published its findings. Here, in
no particular order, is the list STL came up with:
Men who wear gold medallions or white socks. Women who wear fur.
Homosexuals. Real estate agents. Volvo drivers. Smokers. Owners of
garden gnomes. Owners of mobile telephones. The French. Joggers.
Cyclists. Rottweiler owners. Women in white stiletto-heeled shoes.
Accountants. People with limp handshakes. Ethnic minorities. Bigots.
I THINK you'll agree that's a mighty peculiar list. The last two
items alone merit a sort of ...
