Article: 3 arrested in big seizure of raw heroin Drugs valued at $1.2 million; Oakland man nabbed said to be major East Bay dealer

A different kind of shopping trip ended with the Alameda County Narcotics Task Force seizing more than $1.2 million worth of raw heroin and arresting three people, including an Oakland man suspected of being a major East Bay dealer.

Also arrested was the owner of the San Jose market where the arrests happened and a Texas man authorities believe brought the drugs to California in secret compartments built into his car.

The seizure was among the largest ever made by the task force in its more than 20 years in existence, officials said.

The Oakland man was identified as Heri Castaneda, 28, who lived in the 2100 block of 41st Avenue.
