Article: New Indian American move to politics Conference planned for leaders who want a voice in the process

A new generation of Indian Americans, including local up-and- coming community leaders, says it wants a voice in the American political process.

Sunil Erraballi of Fremont is one of about a dozen Tri-City residents planning to join more than 100 Indian Americans from as far as Pennsylvania and Maine on Saturday for the first Indian-American political training conference on the West Coast.

The conference -- sponsored by the Washington, D.C.-based Indian- American Leadership Initiative, will be from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Practicing Law Institute in San Francisco.
