OAKLAND -- There aren't a whole lot of teams that look forward to playing the Los Angeles Lakers, but the Golden State Warriors were one of them Tuesday night.

Inspired by a postgame comment by Lakers coach Phil Jackson following the team's first meeting of the season last month, the Warriors used second- and third-quarter bursts to build a big lead and then rather comfortably held on for a 107-98 shocker before an Arena-record crowd of 20,310.

Jackson had noted that his team had played to the level of the competition -- a direct slap at the Warriors -- in explaining a rather ugly 87-72 home win on Nov.2.
